    Arkane Studios, Lyon France is looking for an experienced Narrative Designer to contribute to the story development and help integrate all the narrative assets in our custom tools.

    Responsibilities

    • Contribute to the design of narrative systems supporting the creative intentions
    • Write attractive and easy-to-use narrative documentation for the whole team, and be a reliable and pro-active source of information
    • Write and implement dialogues and in-game texts in collaboration with the external writers and the narrative director
    • Help script some dynamic content (barks, branching dialogues, etc.)
    • Provide feedback on tools and technology to improve our narrative workflow
    • Work with level designers, systems designers, UI designers, programmers, and external writers on in-game texts (keeping them up to date, adapting to changes, etc.)
    • Work closely with localization team (providing information for translators, import/export of strings, fixing formatting and language-related bugs, etc.)
    • Frequently test the game to ensure its narrative consistency and that the narrative goals are met

    Qualifications

    • Experience creating, designing, and writing released games (of any scope, commercial or personal) with a strong narrative component
    • Has worked with narrative tools before (including Twine or other free-to-use narrative software)
    • Demonstrable experience in world building, character creation, narrative arc design, dialog writing (portfolio submission required)
    • Quickly adapts to tools and workflows
    • English spoken and written, preferably at a native level
    • Good communication and good writing skills
    • Organizational skills.
    • Be familiar with the constraints of Immersive Simulations and Action-Adventure games
    • Ability to adapt quickly to design changes and iterations
    • Pack Office
