Arkane is known for its creative worlds and first-person action games, including the Dishonored and Prey franchises, which have won multiple "Game of the Year" awards. Our newest title Deathloop released on September 14, 2021, for PlayStation 5 and PC is another hit!

The studio is located in the Lyon Confluence district, a place of greenery, sports, gastronomy and music.

Responsibilities

  • A good understanding of the constraints coming from the game design, engine and hardware.
  • Define the technical constraints relating to the characters and animated objects.
  • Integrate the resources into the engine and ensure compliance with the constraints and performance monitoring.
  • Create advanced rigs and skinning for characters, creatures, and props.
  • Create and support tools to improve the rigging and animation pipeline, according to the project needs.
  • Help artistic teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Setup of character ragdolls and cloth physics.
  • Collaborate and share knowledge on latest technological watch with other technical artists in the studio

Qualifications

  • In depth knowledge of Maya and Python/Mel
  • Outstanding rigging and deformation skills (body/facial).
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate team spirit, autonomy and organization.
  • Finding balance between aesthetic, usability, and technical complexity.
  • Experience with MotionBuilder is a plus.
