Arkane Lyon is developing the upcoming title Marvel’s Blade, a third person, single player, action-adventure set in the heart of Paris. The game is based on the comic book hero Blade and will feature an original story with the studio’s signature immersive gameplay and world-class narrative.

Responsibilities

  • Gather visual references and write documentations
  • Manage equally layout of urban volumes as well as the architecture or the decoration of a scene
  • Create 3D architectural prototypes based on reference imagery and concept art
  • Requests props and textures to Env Artists
  • Integrate final assets into the game engine with a focus on mood and environmental storytelling
  • Find balance between artistic aspects, gameplay intentions and technical constraints
  • Collaborate daily with multiple disciplines, including level designers, environment artists and art direction to discuss and understand both game intentions and vision

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience in creating real time environments, modelling or other relevant experience
  • A strong portfolio focused on architectural work or complete environments
  • Knowledge of a 3D software (Blender strongly recommended) and optimization techniques
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills, in English and French
  • Curiosity, flexibility, resourcefulness, collaborative work ethic and attitude
  • Being used to work on tasks autonomously, deliver results in time with efficiency and consistency
  • Creativity, a keen eye for detail and a strong ability to tell stories through level art
  • Good understanding of art fundamentals: lighting, composition, color theory, etc.
  • Ability to work with architecture and level design metrics
  • A good understanding of technical art topics is a plus
